How to manually adjust white balance of negative films

Sometimes we just want more manually control instead of auto adjust, here I'll introduce you how to do it. (demo with FilmScanner v1.1)


1. make sure you already lock white balance.

2. long press screen will popup a "white area selector", aim to the position should be white.(the best choice is the burned area at the beginning part)

3. make sure the center color of white area selector is what you want, then release your finger. Done!

How to easy adjust white balance of negative films

Here I'll introduce you the common usage to adjust white balance of negative films. (demo with FilmScanner v1.1)

1. put your negative films on the iPad(running Lightbox mode), and find the film base(the orange transparency part)

2. use your iPhone running Viewer mode.

3. put your iPhone on the film, and camera targeting the film base part.

4. if the preview image is too dark or too light, adjust exposure(tap screen twice) first.
5. let iPhone adjust white balance about 1 second.

6. remember lock white balance before you take iPhone.
7. now, you should get a well white balance result!
